The best option would be able to do this in Vegas without putting things on the timeline but if anyone had any recommendations for an external program that would allow saving subclips to files without rerendering that would also be an option. I also have Movavi and that seems to be an option to accomplish it with an external program but it doesn't show the audio wave form so it's much more difficult to locate the exact spots that are usable.
